It’s been one year since….
We live on top of this place,
fragile and overlapping,
our feet pigeons, chance and noise
the poems that are streets—
the patchwork of paperless
palimpsestic itchy gritty edges of us,
the human animal…
and then there is the inside.
It’s been just one year….
of witnessing, listening,
absorbing this ecosystem that is the Raval.
Some streets have it all!
Bisbe Laguarda, the bishop-guardian,
downstream from the Riera Alta
ebb and flow
The sounds, the passing, the gazing,
The discarding, the collecting,
the carting, the wheeling and dealing,
The cleansing and the crashing
And as we pool and filter all
we find inspiration
Where past and future meet….
And the artists!
Where are they, but everywhere!
The curators in their second-hand shops,
The talented maneuverers of objects and place
The skillful stackers of metal objects in trolleys
And the bodega, barman and barflies,
Que pasa?
¿Qué diablos están Armando?!
They witness and live the relentless flow of life….
